A fiery pit of all you’ve known,
Relationships all turn to stone,

Retire soon?
A death vacation’s in your view.

Working hard like a rat,
Vermin caged, human trapped,

Someone promised you some food,

Work until your bones create,
A concrete slab where you can lay.

Tiny rat, tiny cage,
Mindless human, mirrored traits,
Toxic planet, no debate.
Work real hard, you’ll stay in shape.
Over priced, you must consume,
Give up your life for something new,
Sweet escape, digital dismay,
Live the life your phone creates.

And in the end,
We’re all just rats in a cage.
